Best way to get through content effectively?

Hi,

I have a lot of content to get through. What would some of your advice be?

Currently, I'm trying to:

- Read through all the content
- Make three columns in Word: the first for the word, the second for the definition, and the third for the explanation
- Create flashcards and revise
- Answer questionnaires and one-mark questions
- Work on past papers

However, I think reading all the content at once and then learning it is too time-consuming. I should break it down.

If you could advise me on this matter, that would be great.

Thank you!

Hi @ScoobyZazzy

What you're doing is great. Keep it up!

Make sure you're giving yourself lots of breaks, and don't overwork yourself, as that is when revision becomes ineffective.

One tip I have is before you start doing your current techniques, try active recall first. You may surprise yourself with what you already know. If there is content you already know, then there is no point in revising it again (in as much detail). Any gaps that you spot are, therefore, the areas you need to revise.

I’m a huge advocate for active recall, as it helped me make the most of my revision time. If you’re not too sure about the method or how it works, there are many websites or even YouTubers who talk about it. Just don’t get too distracted on YouTube, like I used to!

I wish you all the best, and have a great summer!
