Why were you not able to secure accommodation with them? To me, it looks like they are still accepting applications for accommodation.

For example, did you reject or miss an offer of accommodation from them?

Many places will only give a single offer of accommodation to deter students from thinking if they don't like the offer, they can get a second offer later on.

At one of my places I worked at, we would refuse to accept another application for accommodation from any student who rejected their offer of accommodation before the start of term. They knew that at the outset because they were told we had a one offer only policy.

You would need to check with that Uni directly.

Their website says 'Students looking for accommodation later in the year are welcome to contact us for details and availability'.

That to me says they will consider students on an adhoc case to case basis against future rooms that become vacant when their student residents drop out.

At the 3 places where I worked in student accommodation, all of our halls were completely full at the start of term.

We were inundated with requests for accommodation by students who hadn't secured accommodation as the term was due to start.

if taking a gap year and applying deferred the year before entry, do you apply for accommodation the year you applied or the year you are joining?
