I suggest you get used to the idea of going into the real world. It is going to happen sooner or later so there is no point in delaying. Get yourself a part time job. You never know, you might even enjoy it. It is time to grow up.

Start going to uni open days when you are in year 12. You will soon get a feel for what suits you and see the opportunities that attending a physical uni will offer.
Hi Munei,

Open Days are really good opportunities to find out as much as you possibly can about a University. You will have the chance to see the campus/city (maybe for the first time), meet tutors and current students who are studying at the uni. There will be much more happening throughout the day too - I'd always recommend meeting the Student Union and finding out about sports clubs and societies as well as attending sessions on student finance and student life!!

Wishing you all the best,
Kate

Heyy 👋

I'd agree with the advice around going to an open day at universities to take a proper look around, meet academics and current students and also to explore the wider area/city to get a feel for whether you'd like studying in that place.

If you're not able to get to open days though have a look on university websites and see if they offer a virtual tour or experience online that you can use to get an idea of the campus too! Or check out their social media and youtube, often universities will have videos about campus, university and student life as well as some course insights too, so you can get an idea of university life from home as well!

Good luck in the future! I'm sure you'll pick the right university for you 🙂

Hi there,

I totally agree with the advice to go to some open days. They can be a great opportunity to get a feel for a campus, course, and culture of a school. In my opinion, it is never too early to attend these, as it gives you the time to visit as many as possible and doesn't get stressful alongside your studies! If you can't attend in person, virtual tours are a great option too.

I think this would also be a great time to figure out what you would be interested in studying. Do your research to find out which universities will offer online classes (I'm not sure if this is a universal thing), but also make sure to look into in-person ones too.

I'd recommend that you keep your options open right now, as you never know what kind of opportunity you could get!

Thinking about what is making you nervous of attending in-person might be something to consider. Is there something you could do to address that, or maybe just putting yourself out there a little more could help? Is there anyone you can speak to about this? Feeling nervous about going to university is totally normal, but don't let it hold you back!

I hope this helps! 🙂

Hi @Munei

It's great that your already thinking about university!

I agree with the advice given so far, attending an open day is one of the best ways to choose a university. Visiting a campus will allow you to explore, talk to lectures, talk to current students and ask all your burning questions. If your nervous to visit, I would recommend getting a group of friends or family to go with you. Also remember the reason for open days is for prospective students to see the campus, so there is nothing to worry about. 🙂

To make you feel more comfortable visiting campus, doing your research beforehand can settle your nerves. You could look at photos of the campus so you are more familiar with the environment. You could also look at the courses you may want to study in detail and prepare/ write down questions you may want to as on the day.

I'm sure you will feel welcomed at any campus you visit!

I hope this helped, please feel free to ask me any questions,
