Computing science and mathematics at St Andrews

People who have gotten into this specific course, was it just stellar grades that mattered. Also, I have seen that the acceptance rate is 35%, is this true ? Any ideas for good extracurriculars if needed. And any advice generally for things to do on ps etc. Thank you.

As St. Andrews' comp sci and maths departments don't do tests, their main point of focus is your predicted grades and your PS. Idk about the acceptance rate - doesn't matter. One thought for an extracurricular is to make a very simple maths-related program(s) from scratch (e.g. a simple calculator app) and fire that into your PS. They don't expect you to have been on any relevant work experiences/internships and they'd much rather see you make some simple program instead, as this shows you can apply knowledge, instead of merely showing what you learnt directly.
