I've currently been living in a private student accommodation for a year but it has a problem with my room becoming extreme hot in warm weather. Since May my room has been between 27 - 29.5 degrees and this past week is now permanently on 30 degrees.
I've emailed to have it sorted and a maintenance guy was supposed to come which I don't know if he did. But even so the temperature problems have gotten worse and I don't know what to do or what my rights are.
Is it hot simply because it's hot outside? Or is the heating "stuck" on, or something like that?
Is there a reason your room is particularly hot? Or are all the rooms hot?
Does the window open? Do you have access to a fan?
What sort of remedy are you seeking? (The landlord isn't obliged to install air conditioning.)

The heating is off, I'm running 2 fans and have my blinds closed to keep the sun from making it worse. My window is open but doesn't open much at all. The place is insulated so the outside temperature makes it hotter. I don't believe it's just me either as the corridor outside my room is reading between 32-33 degrees. I don't need them to install air conditioning but there must be some way to not have my room at over 30 degrees.
