The Student Room Group

work for a 16 year old looking to go into the arts sector?

I turn 16 in a few weeks and was hoping to get a job soon… I would love if it was a paid job but all I really want is work experience, not only would it be a great learning experience I really want to have a good resume and uni application. I’m hoping to go into an arts university, ual is my dream but I know their acceptance rate is low so I was hoping any job I could find would be art related. does anyone have any tips/potential workplaces that would fit?
What sort of art degree are you interested in?

Does it have to be specifically art related?

You could volunteer to help out at your school’s art lessons for younger years. Or start a public/school art club. You could also see if any art groups near you need assistants.

Art universities aren't looking for work experience from applicants. They'll be looking at your qualifications, your PS and reference and your portfolio.
