Do I need to write a personal statement in order to apply to Canadian universities?

I have just finished Year 12 and going to Year 13, I've been preparing all of my resources for university.
I asked my school counsellor whether or not I need a personal statement for universities such as UofT, McGill, University of Alberta etc.
She said that Universities in Canada do not need a personal statement at all but instead you have to answer 3 supplemental questions which will vary for different universities. However, I did a lot of research and I couldn't find anything related to the supplemental questions.

I want to study Kinesiology, could someone please give me a checklist of what I should have after the end of summer so I can immediately apply during September-October time.
