UCAT Study Log 2024

Hey guys, welcome to my UCAT study log ig!! (p.s this is 100% inspired by @toothysmile's ucat motivation log)

I've just finished year 12 and will hopefully be applying for medicine in September!! (assuming i don't flop ucat...)

The point of this is to keep track of my revision cause im literally the worst procrastinator :frown:
I've done about 3 days worth of revision before doing a diagnostic mock to see whereabouts I'm at, e.g getting to know the sections and the style of the exam etc, but icl, i've kinda lot motivation already... hopefully this will help me... fingers crossed

UCAT EXAM DATE: 30/08/24

Medentry diagnostic mock: 2720, band 3 (felt like the scaling and scoring system was super weird tho... only gonna take this mark into consideration with a pinch of salt)

Target: 3200+ (is this too unrealistic lol)

Countdown: 37 days (so nervous!!)

Hello, Ill also be sitting the UCAT in September, getting anywhere between 2600-2800 is already considered a pretty good score for medical/dental applicants as far as I know, Ive also been stressed and demotivated looking at the scores Ive been getting but hopefully with enough practice Ill get better.

Every student has their own capacity some may have the stamina to do a full mock where as some might find it difficult or understanding the question types.
Dont compare yourself to others cuz this can really demotivate you.

Make sure you dont cram to avoid being burnt out before the test, consistency is the key, make sure you also give yourself enough time for other things as well as well as revision.

You can look at conversion table to see where you are at (idk if this is an accurate conversion to the real thing)
https://www.medvieweducation.org/nz/study/ucat/conversion-table/

I honestly dont got much to say as I am stressed out myself lol.

Goodluck on your studies

decided to follow @toothysmile's format:

23/7

Target:
🎯 100Qs AR
🎯 2 AR subtest mock

Completed:
130Qs AR (marks were awful tho...)
❌A AR subtest mock

Reflection:

completed more qs than expected but accuracy was not good. need to reflect careful tomorrow and go to untimed practice before moving back to timed

was not productive, procrastinated a lot, gonna try and be more ambitious tmrw by getting more stuff done

Tmrw's Plan:

AR qs reflection

2 AR subtest mock + review

100qs AR

100qs QR

2 QR subtest mock + review

Countdown: 37 days...

Hi, this forum sounds quite cool! I’ll try to bump it up for you so you get more views

I’m also in year 12 and will be applying for med this September (fingers crossed touch wood). For me I have 34 days left.

MedEntry diagnostic mocks may be a bit unclear as the picture only takes into account people who use MedEntry, not those who use medify or other platforms or the official UCAT platform. I also do take it with a pinch of salt, but I like to look at the error log record and analytics on MedEntry to see which questions I struggle with the most, and make note of these.

3200+ is not way too unrealistic, however I would do some more UCAT revision and then do another diagnostic mock in a couple of days to see are where you are at. 2900+ is a very good score for top med schools!
