is arbito really worth it ?? LNAT

so i’ve heard a lot about arbito in preparation for the LNAT but it is very expensive even with using codes and such, but ive also seen books and textbooks that people also say have helped, so what is the best thing to use as me personally i can’t afford to pay for arbito but if it will give me the best chance then ill have to but obs i dont, so what has actually helped people score high as im looking at applying for oxbridge?

I’m currently using a textbook to prepare for the LNAT called The Ultimate LNAT Guide. Personally, I would recommend this as the book has over 400 questions and more accurately represents what questions on the test may be like. Arbitio is meant to be significantly harder than the real thing, which means that if you are averaging lower scores on Arbitio, you will likely do a lot better in the real thing. It basically prepares you for the worst. Honestly, when I tried to sit the free practice test I really struggled and I realised that spending the money on it wasn’t going to be beneficial to me. It might work well for others, but I think textbooks and guides are a cheaper alternative that can be just as efficient. I scored lower than I did on a previous online practice test (31/42) on The Ultimate LNAT Guide’s practice test (29/42), but on my next online practice test I score 32/42, so I would say it’s worth looking into. You can use free resources too of course. I got my book on EBay but you can find it on Amazon too.

My daughter used the Ultimate Guide. She prepped for six weeks, on and off. She scored 33 in the multiple choice section of the LNAT, and obtained a place at Oxford. Arbitio sounds to me like an expensive option. As well as doing practice tests, maybe read publications such as the Economist, the FT Weekend, and the London Review Of Books. Good luck!

Plenty of people get into good Law courses without any of the ££ commercial stuff.
The LNAT books (Amazon) are good and give you as much insight as any of the 'courses'.
Dont waste your money on Arbito etc.

nah, i got a 29 on my lnat (average for this year was 23 i think) and all i did was a couple practice tests

I use Arbitio and personally I wouldn't recommend it. I bought the Ultimate Guide and find that it feels much more realistic and I score higher which definitely boosts my confidence, as compared to Arbitio, where I tend to score in the teens, which can be suuuuuper demotivating at times.

i think the most helpful thing about it is the online format - as ultimately the test itself is online. there’s some free practice lnat tests on law mind as well as the free arbitio one and the one on the lnat website which i would strongly reccomend. it’s quite easy to be thrown off when you sit the actual thing if you’ve only practiced with paper tests!!
