Been put into quiet living accommodation without selecting it

I’ll be going to Winchester in September. I applied in the middle of accommodation applications so I wasn’t the earliest to apply. I received my accommodation offer yesterday and I got the room I chose however I was put in the quiet living environment even though I didn’t select it. I like to make music very often and I want to be able to socialise a lot too. Does anyone know what the quiet living environments at Winchester are like? Are they actually quiet? I think more people applied for en-suite than there are this year so I have a feeling that could be why

Hello 👋

It's great to hear you'll be starting with us. Unfortunately due to high volume of applications this was the room type that our housing team had available. Currently, they are unable to make any changes at this stage so we would advise that once you have arrived at the university to email Housing to request a room transfer. Don't worry too much though, although the quiet areas of university are foremost reserved for those who prefer quieter living, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to socialise and enjoy your music. We have plenty of sports clubs and societies to join and our student union provides a range of events from silent discos to quizzes!

I hope this is helpful, please feel free to reply with any other questions you might have.

Hi there! Not sure if you'd reply or if you're really did go to Winchester.
I plan to go to Winchester this September, and I am pretty much clueless as to how the student life is and the actual living cost if you're living in the dorm. Can you enlighten me with your living and studying experience there?
