Worth applying to kings if you dont match GCSE requirements?

Hi, im currently a year 12 student going into year 13 in september, and as i am applying to medical courses i will be submitting my UCAS application as of November. One of the courses i am interested in is Dental hygiene/ Therapy and only two unis in london currently do it- (Kings and Queen marys) But getting to my main point and question.

For kings uni there grade requirement for GCSE's is a 5 in english and math. While i match the criteria for english, i do not for math as i have an 4.

I match the grade requirement for the course as i am predicted a D* D for applied science and a B for sociology ( the grade requirements on the website being DM and B)

But im wondering is it worth wasting one of my slots for UCAS applying to kings if i wouldn't even have a slither of a chance of getting in due to my GCSE's.

Sorry for writing a lot- But could someone answer i would be extremely grateful!

If you’re required to have a 5 in Maths and you only have a 4 (unless you have a very good reason for this) then you probably wont be accepted so don’t apply if you know you’ll be rejected already I would say

Resit or apply elsewhere.
No, GCSE requirements are normally "hard" requirements and not meeting them would be an automatic rejection typically.

As a 5 or above in GCSE Maths is quite common as a requirement, I'd suggest aiming to resit to get the 5 doing foundation tier.

Don’t apply to kings as they shortlist using GCSEs so you would almost certainly be rejected pre interview. Resit and apply somewhere else.
