should i get a cat?

my parents are against it (for obvious reasons), i'm relatively responsible (and 19), and i have two siblings (15 & 17 & also responsible/okay with cats).
Now typically, I'd get one, we did have one back in our homeland, but here, my grandparents live with us and they're old and my grandma is always in and out of hospital so idk if i'm supposed to be considering that or smth but i am...
But I really really want a kitty and everyone knows this but I feel like I should get one and deal with the consequences after... But I don't want to get one just for he/she to be given away

you can't be relatively responsible you have to be responsible.

If it's not your home and your parents are against it so you pretty much need to wait till you have your own place.

While the tactic of 'It's easier to seek forgiveness than permission' is true for a lot of things don't do it with an animal's life, don't bring it home unless you're 100% able to offer it a home otherwise you're just ****ing it about, I say this having recently had an otherwise young healthy cat basically die from the stress of a bad move.

It’s not easy to look after although it may seem like it! You have to also factor in many things such as vet trips, grooming, hotel stays if you go on holiday which adds up to quite a lot so you may be responsible but you also need a quite moderate amount of money!

aww, I'm so sorry to hear that.
I know how precious having a pet is, it's basically a child/new born baby and ofc, i've kept that in mind asw esp when it comes to taking care of them.

Honestly it sounds like you’re juggling a lot already, and a cat kinda adds its own storyline to the house. If your grandparents need quiet or your parents already said no, you might end up stressing more than enjoying the kitty. Maybe wait a bit or try fostering for a short time just to see how the house vibe changes. That way you don’t get stuck in the “oh no now I have to give the cat away” situation.
