for science, depending on your exam board, CGP has great books. i used their two full revision guide books and there workbook a few days before each exam. at the back of the revision guide there is a paper 1 & 2 for each subject which is really helpful if you have done all the past papers. the workbook is really specific with its answers which is good practice for the real exam. i just got my results back and got a 9 in all 3 from being predicted 7’s and i truly believe those books helped. good luck

CGP also have Grade 8-9 targeted workbooks for maths and science. If you go through them you're almost guaranteed to get a 9.

i just remembered another thing. the website “cognito” is really really useful for science. it does prompt you to pay but you can ignore it, just make sure not to make an account because if you do it will lock you out after a certain amount of time and make you pay. clear your search history, don’t sign in/up and you can use it as much as you want

No idea how this thing works honestly.
Wanted to document my process as i grow my grades or something
Did my first mocks this year in june/July although my grades are not as I expected:
History (edexcel) -6 (suprised, i really struggle with content at revision)
Maths(edexcel)-5 (dissapointed few marks off a 6)
Triple science :Biology(aqa)-6(lost silly marks)
Triple Science:Chemistry(aqa)-5(hate Chemistry but I still want to do well)
Triple Science:Physics(aqa)-5(I'm only good at the calculation questions)
German(aqa)-6(capped at a 6 bc we all did foundation but I did higher writing and got a 7)
computer science(ocr)-7 (was a few off a 6 but my teacher was nice enough to remark less harsh, honestly I expected it though)
English literature(ocr)-6 ( not suprised, I struggled alot with poetry unseen)
English language (aqa)-6(dissapointed I thought I ate on the question 5, normally my strongest question answered)
Not sure what else to put here, I know how to revise but also motivation and putting the time in. How to know if I am revising effectively or not.
I know this isn't the final deciding score but when everyone else surrounding me is getting easy 7s and 6s it's hard to be put in very deflated mindset. I feel like if I can't do well on these next mocks, I'll have no really chance in getting into a good college/sixth form

Update of day (I wasn't keeping track) I'm currently off track and focus I kinda had a mental break down today but not actually a mental breakdown it was just me getting annoyed at myself for procrastination and taking it out on everything else more or less with more procrastinating I was gonna do maths and then I lost my calculator 🙆🏽*♀️🤦🏾*♀️ so then I tried to look for it and it was unsuccessful ( and you did a good job of really f****** my day🎶) so then I tried to do history and remembered that seneca exists so I may or may not be doing that for history nowso to top off the day I ended up half doing half not doing a computer science paper then stopping out of pure boredom it felt like I was cramming but I have litch no reason to cram so I ended up making another fat list of all the stuff idk

Essentially in summary I'm going to take another break.. even though I was on a break b4? Idc there's no rush but t doesn't mean I don't want to try and get myself into some sort of routine so procrastination cannot get the better of me

Mic drop. Rant over

Update 6 more days till it's back to school basics. will I be back with bang? 👀 yes and no. Did I take a break. No and no. I lied. I ended up doing maths today in little intervals I started doing the cosine rule but eventually didn't end up finishing the video I was watching which was only 34 minutes long.

What's next for me : finish the video. Answer questions on the cosine rule, do questions on cosine×sine rule then tick off both topics and then maybe I'll do biology I've been brushing that off for too long

In all reality I actually need to do computer science as that is what I plan to do at a level and would essentially prefer to exceed in the subject even if the gcse and a level aren't anything alike.

Additional ly theres nothing additional to say today. I lied again I actually wanted to say I've been seeing everyone else's GYG and it has been very motivational knowing that there are lots of people who have been / are going to be ,/are in similar situations to me🫶🏾🫶🏾

Yes ofcc

What subjects do you find easiest? And which subjects do you find hardest? And how are you finding revision?

I struggle with English and geography because I never know how to phrase questions properly and I’ve not done lots of revision just to lack of motivation but I’ve started doing lots now wbuu?

I struggle the most with sciences and history but history is mainly because I don't have a good teacher, the way they word the questions for science are so confusing and the way they mark them are even more confusing, I have started revising but I'm very inconsistent. I could do loads in one day but then nothing for like a week.

I get what you mean a great app is adapt, you put in ur subjects, when u want to finish revision and they create a timetable and study smarter which lets you make notes and Flashcards online

Update: day (today) technically like week 5

Did maths, again , just maths. Revising for maths is easier I finished off cosine rule and did some questions I'm still not used to using both cosine rule and sine rule together in questions also not used to doing pythag and trigonometry questions so I guess my next step is to spam past papers into my brain and reevaluate the situation.

About the other subjects.. ahaha 👀 if anybody asks the only gcse I take is maths because I genuinely cba with the others l. I'll try do history tmmrw , maybe some crime and punishment with henrry the 8th idk
Good luck with GCSEs!!

Update ik it's late but idrc:

Today... clap for me. I did computer science, woooooww.

Computer science is difficult but not difficult it's difficult to remember the specifics of the information but it's not difficult to understand the information. It wasnt much I just did an hour on seneca but after I literally had a lone tear falling down my face, I left my phone in a different room too so I had no choice but to js power through for an hour with no breaks more or less unless you count my mind drifting to other things during the seneca lessons but yeah they're quick and easy so it's not bad ig.but it's mainly because I already know the content so I'm mainly do the notes quizzes stuff to consolidate my knowledge

But yeah that's all idk what I'm gonna do tmmrw maybe I'll do some German mainly because it's easier to revise.

Update: I ******* hate German. Can I swear on here? Idk it's too late now, ik I said I was considering German gcse. I lied. I hate German.

On the other hand I did some maths again obviously, mainly mathswatch doing difficult questions of topics I've covered to soludfy knowledge. I did all of my mini subjects on adapt this new app that got recommended to me by idk who I can't remember. So I did english lit chemistry and biology which is pretty good, I felt pretty accomplished so I did basically nothing else. I might do abit of maths rn tbh out of pure boredom and hope the boredom makes me fall asleep.

Tommorow adapt says I should do computer science english language and physics. That's not happening. I'll probably do henry the 8th and more maths.

For maths, as long as a wish. For German as long as I can manage. For the mini subjects I try to get atleast 10 minutes in. And if my brain can still function after that I'll try get to 15-20
