A level options

Hi, I've chosen four a-level options of maths, bio, chem and further maths, but im struggling to decide between medicine and finance for my future. Does anyone have any advice on how to decide what to do?. I'm kinda leaning towards finance/economics but If i do finance/economics, I think it is better to drop biology and do economics but I really like biology so I don't know what to do. Pls help!

would your sixth form allow you to drop a subject after a few weeks? maybe you could try out maths, chem, further maths and economics to see how you find economics, and if you don't like it you could switch to biology. if you don't want to do that you could look at the course content for your A levels and see whether bio/chem or economics seem more appealing. or you could try out some online courses in medicine and finance to see which one you find more enjoyable, or do some reading around the subject for each to see which one you find more interesting. point is, try to immerse yourself in both medicine and finance to see which one you'd feel happier doing in the long term. good luck!

Until you have done relevant caring experience its difficult to know if Medicine is right for you.
Call local Care Homes - and offer to volunteer etc. Can you deal with/communicate with older people, and especially those who are ill/with dementia. That should give you an idea about suitability.

Its also worth looking at Allied Health for other career ideas - Roles in the allied health professions | Health Careers

Useful info about Pharmacy vs. Pharmacology - Choosing between Pharmacy and Pharmacology (bath.ac.uk)

Hi,

From what I know: to do finance/economics degree all unis require A level maths. and some may ask for further maths. economics and further maths are useful and beneficial A levels but they are not required. I think if you choose biology, chemistry, maths and further maths, you can do medicine or finance/economics for future as you will have option to do degrees related to medicine or related to finance/economics. but I think you should only study 3 A levels because they are extremely difficult from GCSE but I don't know if you can manage 4 if you think you will be able to do it then you can do. If you do 3 A levels you are likely to achieve higher grades because you will focus on 3 more but if you have 4 A levels, you may not have much time to like focus on all 4 to high level. if you can first decide which field you want to go into then you can only choose subjects related to your field and you can reduce your A levels to 3 if you want.

I hope this helps.

Those 4 are a common combination and we only aloow 4 if 2 are Maths/FMaths as there is a connection between them.
