it is pretty unlikely you would be able to transfer to another vet school part way through. Have you asked Surrey if it is possible? The teaching approaches vary significantly between vet schools.
I've asked my head of year and they said they'd had students transfer in the past, so it's rare but it happens. I haven't talked to Surrey yet but I'll probably also speak to a few vet schools.
For biomedical sciences fo you reccomend we bring our own laptops in or can we use pen and paper as I can’t rest buy one till I get student finance
Hi there!
Student Finance is normally sent before the start of the semester, so you should be fine. If your situation is different, then you can find helpful information here, where you can also contact the Admissions Team, which would be happy to help you with more specific questions. You can also chat to one of our biomed students here, and I'm sure they'd be more than happy to help you 😁
I hope you found the answer to your question by now but if not no worries.
Adding onto Marko’s answer, in terms of lectures, choosing either is up to you! Personally, I bring an iPad and Apple Pen to lectures to take notes (any electronic tablet can work to be honest). I find that I can take notes directly on the lecture slides themselves (which lecturers tend to give in advance) and this isn’t something that you can do with a traditional pen & paper. I also chose a tablet because having stacks of physical notepads everywhere didn’t suit my preferences.
If you prefer typing then maybe a laptop is recommended but don’t worry, you can survive a few lectures without one if you’re waiting for student finance. At Surrey you can loan a laptop for a few hours from the library to use in your lectures. If you need it after lectures, there’s an abundant amount of computers on campus to use for any relevant assignments.
At uni, everyone just sticks to the method that they personally prefer the most. One is not necessarily better than the other if that makes sense? Try having a go at each and see what you prefer is my advice.
