I did intouchables this year. The way I revised for the writing (not necessarily the best way) was by writing model paragraphs on random topics/scenes in the film, using a translator at home, trying to get as many good quotes, sentence structures and analysis in there as possible. For me, this was the easiest way I could make things stick in my head. Also, learn a good introduction structure off by heart - this will help settle your nerves a lot in the exam. Don't worry about learning loads of different quotes, just learn the really important ones which you can link to lots of topics.

We never used a textbook but in terms of online resources I can definately recommend looking through some Quizlets and using them to help with the writing model paragraphs method. I didn't really revise by themes - more revised important moments in the film and learnt the sentence structures to be able to tie them into any theme or character (ie. in the Art Gallery when Philippe buys the expensive painting which shocks Driss {wealth divide} and Driss makes a cruel 'pas de bras, pas de chocolat' joke {humour, lack of pity, what this shows about the characters etc.}). For me that was easier.

hey! I've just finished year 13 and here are my tips for the writing:

learn a set structure for your book/film intro that is easily adaptable to any question

clearly outline your main point at the start of each paragraph

start with the more obvious analysis before building it up to the more interesting stuff

What advice do you have for Paper 1? Paper 2? and Paper 3 IRP and Speaking? 😧

Not sure how the papers work for edexcel but hopefully this makes some kind of sense:
Listening/Reading/Writing - do as much grammar, vocab and past paper practice as possible! eventually the questions become almost the same (to some degree)
Film/Book - make sure you know the plot like the back of your hand so is easier to structure your essays and examples, start with obvious analysis then build up to more interesting points, clearly link your intro/points/conclusion to the question, practice essay planning with a 2-5 min time limit rather than countless hours as this will help stop you wasting valuable time in exams, learn some essay phrases, translation practice
Speaking/IRP - mind map all initial ideas for IRP as this will help you figure out what is actually relevant, choose a topic which is broad enough to have good resources but also gives you chance for meaningful analysis, only put the key points in your IRP as you can save the rest for the Question/Answer section, practice planning photocards with a 2-5 min time limit as this will be the case in the exam, make flashcards or mind maps to organise your facts for year 12/13 topics, start with

obvious analysis in Q1 and then build up to interesting in Q2 and 3.

That is everything that I can think of for now, lmk if you need more help and hope it helps! 😄
