University clearing

Is it possible to apply for a completely different university courses of the same university in clearing? I want to apply to civil engineering now but i applied accounting and finance in ucas this year.... Thanks

Yes. Do you think you would be able to persuade them that you're genuinely interested in civil engineering?

Yes, Unis don't mind this sort of switch, and it wont disadvantage any Clearing application.

Yes I think I can do that but my whole personal statement is based on applying to accounting and finance. Do I need to write another one or is it fine to submit the original one. Thanks for the reply

You won't need to create another, not will you be given the opportunity to do so.

On results day, you call up the uni and say you're interested in applying for their Civil Engineering course via Clearing. They'll ask you a bunch of questions (which may include trying to establish your interest in the course) and - if they're happy - they'll then give you the green light to apply formally via UCAS Hub.

It might be that they don't ask any questions at all about your interest in the course, but I suspect that they will.
