Pub crawl for freshers? Liverpool

Hello, I’m new here. Don’t pick on me. My friend recommended I use this platform to ask for help, i would greatly appreciate anybody’s input.

I am organising a freshers pub crawl (not exclusively pubs) for students coming in Sep (this year) in Liverpool. It has dawned on me that I am too old to know what is cool for young people.

Back in my day, me and my friends would go Heebie Jeebies, the Krazyhouse, Slaters, Baabar, Black Rabbit, and the classic concert square.

I’m wondering if anybody is around 18-20 years old and knows what is cool, affordable and freshers-friendly? I don’t know whether it’s going to be a weekday or weekend at this point, but just wanting a general idea.

TIA

How big are you expecting your group to be? There’s a difference between venues that can fit in ~10 people and 20+

Yes you’re right I forgot to add a number, apologies. I think around 15-20 people.

Hello,
I fear I'm slightly late to the conversation but I'd say don't worry too much about what the younger generation class as cool or hip spots. When you find your group of friends, you'll all find spots around the city you all enjoy to go to, even if its not a commonly popular place to go.
Me and my friends quite like hanging out around the Baltic area around the Arts Bar and Camp and Furnace around there and they are not commonly cool places, but they have a nice environment and cosy feel to them, that's why we like them.
If you're ever in doubt, I know a lot of students like to hang out around concert square and the clubs around that area, but at the end of the day, you just need to find somewhere that you enjoy spending time.
Hope this helps 🙂
