Student Finance is giving me a headache

Last year for my 2023/24 uni application, my dad retired in april 2023; so both my parents did a Current Year Income Form.

Now this april 2024, my parents had to give evidence for the income received for 2023/24 tax year which they did, along with a pr2 form. In june 2024, sfe asked for more evidence on my dads financial info, in which we submitted more. Last week, I contacted sfe to see the status of my application and they out of nowhere told me to complete another form (pff2 for my parents income in 2022/23) which none of the many agents before told me to do, despite me asking them if anything else was needed.

Now, my dad was asked to send evidence of his income for 2021/22, which I don't understand as this year isn't even necessary to my application. I don't understand the lengthy process of how every few weeks there is something new I need to do? If I submit the 2021/22 financial year will they ask for 2020/21 or even 2019/2020. It never ends. I'm very stressed right now.

Hi GTT21,

Usually the Current Year Income would be used to assess the 24/25 application. To have this looked into, you will need to call or start a live chat on your account to confirm why this has now been requested.

Why? I did the cyi form for my first year application (2023/24). And confirmed the income received the following tax year, april 2024 along with a pr2 form. This is what I was told to do.

Hi there,

Were you ever sent an e-mail requesting the PFF2 from, or were you only told this when you called?

Thanks, Graeme

I was only told to do the pff2 form, when I called regarding something else, by phone
