Gap year plans

Hi,

Does anyone have any suggestions for a “career focused gap year”. What I mean by that is I want to build skills and stuff during the next 12 months to build my career before I start pilot training. I spontaneously decided to take a gap year as I wanted a break from studying as pilot training is going to be a huge commitment and tbh I’m just a bit burnt out from studying.

I already have a full time job and I am going to get my drivers license asap. I signed up for a programme as well. I already have a place in a flying school but I’ll have to redo my entrance assessments as they expire after a year, but let’s say this gap year doesn’t go to plan I’ll just screw it and start pilot training. I was thinking of volunteering at an aviation museum? And possibly doing a few online courses or learning a language to keep the brain working. I also plan on travelling.

Any ideas on what I can do as I would like to have my LinkedIn popping.

During vacation I love doing online courses, some give you a certificate with you can add to your CV (they do cost money). You could try fininging local events that interest you and network a bit. Good luck and have fun in your gap yea!
Maybe learn to glide? It's great fun, and glider pilots make good pilots of powered aircraft.
