A level options - help

I want to apply to 4 medical schools in the future and for my non medical option I would like to apply to Cambridge for Physics.
I am taking bio, chem, physics and maths next year.
Will I be at disadvantage since I’m not taking further maths?

No you won’t be at a disadvantage for medicine. Most medical schools only want biology and chemistry and prefer either physics or maths as the third (top unis).

Sorry I wasn’t clear, I meant disadvantage for physics at Cambridge 😅

Yes without FM, and also yes because they will question your commitment to the course if you're applying to something entirely different everywhere else.

There is no pure Physics course at Cam. You will be studying Natural Science.

Have a look at the entry requirements.

You shouldn't be, although it's desirable as long as you get the grade requirements in your other subjects you should be fine. Cambridge only ask for maths and two other science/math subjects which you have with bio chem and physics. You should be good with those subjects, they will appreciate your grades more than having further maths.

Are you aware of the very obvious risks? You may be at a double disadvantage too since you neither have FM plus your personal statement (not the mycamb one but that is only SUPPLEMENTARY) will have to be tailored for medicine and will likely show Cambridge you’re not interested enough in NatSci to warrant an interview.
