Mental health nursing

Hello I’m a second year Psychology student and I’m looking into getting into mental health nursing as a career, my current issues is that I have nooo experience in regards to the field I am interested in and feel like I’m behind my peers when it comes to experience. I would like to know is there anywhere I should be looking for experience that’s related to mental health nursing. (Any experience or guidance to do with psychology in general would be gladly appreciated)

Experience isnt everything.

Im just about to go into my third year doing mental health nursing and had no previous experience in care/healthcare but i have a passion for supporting people with mental illnesses, and a qualified youth worker. Theres others on my course and friends doing adult nursing) that again have no experience, but a passion for nursing.
Then theres others that have worked in care homes, healthcare assistants in hospitals... if you have the passion they will see that from your application and interview.
