What is required to get into Harvard?

Also, what GCSE results do you need?
How many GCSEs?

The best is to think about the subject you would like to study at Harvard and then pick accordingly, also with A-levels. It helps to check out their website to see the entry requirements for your desired course, if you can't find the answers you were looking for you could always call them to be sure. Good luck!

US universities don't have entry requirements as most students don't decide on a program/major until the second year at uni. Unlike UK unis, you take a broad range of subjects the first year to fulfill your uni's core requirements before branching out to classes you are more interested in. US unis definitely value high academic performances, but they also want to know who you are as a person, what personality you have, any extra-curriculars you are really committed to/passionate about, what you can bring to their school.
