Ucl med gcse resits ⚰️💀

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF UCL MED ACCEPT GCSE RESITS FOR THE MEDICINE UNDERGRADUATE COURSE BC I LOOKED ON THEIR WEBSITE AND THEY SAY THAT THEY DONT ACCEPT RESIT QUALIFICATIONS UNLESS YOU NEED TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS. BUT OTHER PPL KEEP SAYING UCL ACCEPTS GCSE RESITS WITHOUT EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES. sorry for the caps im actually going insane, UCL is my first choice so im just praying to every God there is out there in hopes that they are referring to A level resits.
If anyone knows that would be very helpful.
Thank you and sorry for this rant.

Taken from the UCL website for medicine:

“Candidates may resit GCSE subjects in order to meet the GCSE requirements. Graduates who resat A levels before their degree will also be considered. Otherwise, we do not accept qualification resits, including re-starting Year 12.”

They accept GCSE resits, but if you were to resit A levels after your degree or restart Year 12 after taking AS levels, you would not be accepted.

Not everyone resits their A levels before they go to university. If someone had missed the grades for medicine initially and ended up studying biomedical science for example, they wouldn’t be considered if they were trying to resit their A levels after starting university. Other than that, A level resits would be considered.

will they accept AS level resits if you took them in year 13 along with A2 exams? (and then take a gap yr and apply with your final grades since as level grades affect your predicted grades) And does your grades before the retake matter?

Damn UCL was one of my choices
I’m not doing the subjects I want to do in A level so I’ve chosen to resit and restart yr 12
