With the exception of our MBBS Medicine programme, candidates who have retaken exams may still be considered for entry.
However, submitting grades based on resits may be noted by our Admissions tutors. Where there are extenuating circumstances, these should be outlined in the reference which is supplied as part of your application by a teacher, adviser or professional who knows you academically.
Might be wrong but id take that to mean: they’ll consider you if you have the grades with resits, if it comes to a point where you’re tied for an offer with another applicant they might go well person A did all of them first time, person B resat some with mitigating circumstances and person C resat without mitigating circumstances so we’ll give a place to person A and person B because theyre application is more competitive but we’ll still consider person C if we have room. Im not sure quite how the process works but it seems like they’ll want the higher grades and first time sitting, and they might consider applicants with mitigating circumstances who got the same grades but in resist as equal as they were disadvantaged but they wont automatically reject you, might just see your application as a little less competitive if push come to shove with offers.
Anyone who knows more or has experience feel free to correct me btw as Im not an expect on Imperial entry requirements myself
