No option to decline firm choice on UCAS

I have an interview for clearing that I got via the phone to a university. But there is no option to decline firm choice on UCAS. How am I supposed to cancel that so I can accept my clearing choice?

Do you already have your results, has your Firm Uni processed those results?

Once both your Firm and Insurance Unis have processed their decisions, you will either be in Clearing automatically (because they both rejected you) or you will be able to put yourself into Clearing (you can then decline a definite confirmed place at either/both of those Unis). You cannot do anything until this has happened.

But I have been offered a verbal offer at the other university and an interview through clearing. So am I going to have to wait till they can send an offer through UCAS?

Yes - and they shouldn't even have interviewed you if you are still holding unprocessed offers at other Unis. Were you honest with them about this?

Which Uni was this, and what did they tell you about how to formally apply thorough Clearing?

I applied through their clearing line and gave them my results and UCAS i.d number. They then booked me an interview.

I notice they avoid your question!

So - you didnt tell them you were holding offers and were therefore not actually eligible for Clearing, Yes or No.

Yes I said I was holding offers but they have told me I have not met the requirements and therefore I am unable to go to my firm offer.

The decline my place button is only available to unconditional firm choices AFTER A level results day.
Your firm choice need to make a decision (and if they reject you then your insurance choice needs to make a decision) before you can enter clearing.

Clearing was designed to match unplaced applicants with courses with vacancies. If you try to use it for other purposes then it won’t always work properly.

Do your firm and insurance universities have proof of your results? Just telling them your grades isn’t proof of results.

They do have my results as I completed Access.

and do they have PROOF of your results - Access results don't always come through as expected or on time. It's up to you to make sure they have received them from the exam boards.

I've a question. If the Firm choice has not confirmed a rejection, and the OP wants to go to Bradford now, could the OP not contact her firm choice to release them, so that Bradford can enter into Clearing with the OP?

Another question - UCAS is in embargo yet?

Thank you!

A release is only possible on an unconditional firm offer. If the firm choice intends to reject then they will not have the option to release. A rejection will mean OPs insurance will become their new firm choice and they will have to wait for their insurance to make a decision.

Scottish results embargo started at 6pm on Monday.
Basically OP needs to hassle the crap out of their firm and insurance to make a decision while also asking Bradford to extend their deadline.
