Nottingham / Nottingham Trent for Law school?

The law at NtU is better?

I knew people who did Law at Uni of Nottingham and people who did Law at Trent. They both are really good law schools overall and have a lot of opportunities for students when they graduate.
While Uni of Nottingham ranks higher than Trent in Law, you'd still be getting quality education overall from either or. One thing that I respect a lot about NTU is that they were one of the only universities to carry on educating and supporting students amidst the strikes, and even through covid around 3 years ago. That dedication to learning is definitely a factor worth considering when choosing what university you want to go to.

Also, location plays a large role; NTU's law school is situated in the middle of the city, lots of facilities and places to go eat/drink/socialize after hours which is really fun. However, if you prefer something more quiet, with more nature, University of Nottingham is great because their law school is situated near Beeston/High-park, and overall has a beautiful view during the Summer. I got the chance to live in both places and personally I loved living near Beeston more.

At the end of the day the choice is yours, but if you're pursuing a law degree in either one of those two universities, you'll do great!

Nowadays,employers will not take into consideration whether you have graduated from Law school through either universities. What they are after is vast amount of experience, skills and qualities as well as highest levels of qualifications with good references. All this needs to be around 5 years or above. Russell group, poly technic and Metropolitan etc etc are just names like cast system through religious context which is also outdated. To me . To me, this is just full of negative stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination through harsh media representation. This is seen as being racial through groups when all universities within the real world are competing against each other. It's like going to the russle group McDonalds and having a burger meal from them which are portioned controlled then heading burger king and buying their meal but getting more for your money's worth. It's not big as McDonolds and KFC. Overall every university has quality of education, no one should make assumptions about any universities. First people should study there then make assumptions based on your personal experiences!

I have had two careers in my mind: Solicetor or Clinical Psychologist. To me, I'm more leaned towards psychology mental health at Nottingham Trent. I'm going to study this degree in September with my friend. Thank you for all your advise. It's a pleasure having you responding to my statement.

I am interested in Psychology with Criminology with a placement year.

Hi,

We offer Psychology with Criminology with a placement year option, where our students on placement have previously;

worked in prisons to provide support for families

had roles supporting victims and witnesses with the police

supported assisting forensic psychologists in a prison setting.

In the National Student Survey 2024, 97% of our Psychology with Criminology (Sandwich) students are positive about the academic support on their course.

More information will be on the course page on the opportunities available within the school and at the university.

Hope this helps!

Let me know if you have any more questions 🙂
