university if birmingham societies!!! cant find ANY

hey so i’ve been trying to get a grasp of some of the societies that eill be at uob but there is NOTHING i found a small list with like 20 which were just course based and there are NO creative ones anywhere!!! even tho i read there would be like atleast 40 societies?? does anyone know where to find a proper up to date list and are there societies like idk badminton, art, crochet and/or felt .

These lists should be more complete for societies and sports groups! There is a general art society and also hookers and stitchers which is a society for knitting and crochet. There’s also badminton listed on the sports clubs! You’ll be able to find out more during Freshers week, there’s usually societies and sports events.

The best place to look is the students union (su) website, the su is the sub-organization which represents the students and all the societies, sports teams & events are organised & managed through this.

Their will be loads of societies & groups, and you will be able to start your own & get funding & some support to help launch one as well.

The su is kind of a semi-autonomous organization ran in line with the university & its a democratically managed charity (elected by the current students at the university) which gets money from the university and uses that to support students.
