Too late for UCAS transfer?

I am looking to transfer universities, but I haven't applied through UCAS yet. I'm feeling stressed because the UCAS website mentions that "2024 applications will be unavailable," and I'm not sure what this means. Am I too late to apply?

Additionally, I'm trying to add my qualifications in the education section, but my current university doesn't appear in the list. When I input my modules, should I list the credits awarded or the ECTS credits?

Lastly, I want to specify that I wish to enter at stage 2, but I don't see an option to indicate this in my application. Could you please advise on how and when I can select my point of entry?

UCAS will be closing at 6pm today for processing of results. You can still apply but certain things won't update during that period. It is VERY late though and many universities may refuse to consider you for year 2 entry, Credit transfer applications take longer and more work than entry into 1st year.

You should be able to write in your university name if it isn't found on the list. Put CATS not ECTS credit amounts.

Because your application will be placed straight into clearing there's no option to add choices at this stage. When you add a clearing choice as directed by a university then you can specify year 2 then. You need to be absolutely clear to universities that you're applying through clearing for year 2 entry when you contact them.

To transfer your credits across someone needs to match the learning outcomes and credits from your current course to the learning outcomes and credits of your new course. That's a detailed comparison of module specifications not a simple job.

University degrees don't follow a standard syllabus. Not all courses are compatible for year 2 entry.

Oh i see, so if I don’t submit my application by 6pm there’s no point applying?

Where did I say that?

Any transfer application after the January deadline will have limited choices. The later you apply the more limited your options will be.

Have you read the first post of the Transfer FAQ at the top of applications, clearing and ucas? Have you spoken to any of the universities you would like to transfer to?

i've emailed all the universities i'm interested in transferring to. Also where can I find CATS amounts, do I need to convert it somehow, apparently 2 CATS points = 1 ECTS point

Yes if your transcript uses ECTS then you should switch that to CATS on your UCAS form. It’s just double the amount - so 120 credits in a year.

Your universities will need to see a transcript anyway. And probably also a course handbook/module specifications.
