Hi

Sorry to hear that. This can mean many things, perhaps you failed one exam that is necessary to pass in order to go on to the next year. While I don't know the extent of your situation, I think you should not worry too much. If you failed an exam, there is no reason for you not to be able to retake it. It is very unlikely you are being kicked out out of uni.

All the best

:console: Email your academic tutor or someone in charge of your year/course ASAP as they will know the procedures for your department.
It might be a different procedure if you have failed any coursework, but if mostly exams there should be an opportunity to retake in summer (just don't book any holidays!). You still will need to contact someone about resitting exams. Also double check what the passing criteria is for each module.

Did you enjoy the course/new university environment this year?
Life throws curveballs, which can sometimes qualify for exceptional circumstances, which could have affected your performance, and if you think so it's worth telling uni if this is the case.
Hi Anonymous,
I'm joining the commenters above in that I'd think it very unlikely as well for you to be kicked out of uni for a failed year. What did you fail on exactly? Was it an exam, written assignment, presentation etc? Normally, at least at my uni we get a chance to resubmit/resit assessments, and only in case of failing those do we have to retake modules - this means there is still chance given to retake the module that has been failed and then move on to the next year.
Of course, above all, you need to follow your universities' assessment guidelines and policies, and please do contact the relevant people (module leader or other lecturer that has assessed your work, course administrator, course leader etc) for further, detailed guidance or if you are in any doubt. They will probably let you know about resit opportunities, whether that be just the assignment/s you failed on or the whole module.
At my uni, we also get email or other electronic communication about resit dates/further steps, however I am not 100% sure how that works at your uni - in any case, your best course of action is to make enquiries in the matter.

Last but not least, please don't think you are the only one in this situations, many students have failed at some point in their university journey, myself included, which is no reason for not carrying on and being proud of yourself for doing so!
Just keep doing your best and you will see that things will work out for you!
