So I've seen a few gyg's on this website, so of course I had to join in. I think the concept is really smart; you hold yourself accountable to what you do every day and people constantly support and encourage you through your journey. On one hand, I'm really excited to get this sort of proper revision schedule, but on the other hand, I'm really scared that I'll lose this motivation after results day because I'll be disappointed with my grades if they are less than what I hoped to achieve. I hope that regardless of what happens on results day, I'll realise that gcse grades are not the end of the world and continue with my A-levels, but this sense of anticipation is really unnerving.
For context: - I finished gcses a month ago. - I will be taking Biology (OCR), Chemistry (AQA) and Maths (Edexcel).
Happy to welcome any other gygs and encouragement ) I'd be happy for any study buddies as well; the more the merrier
I see - so it's not necessary per se but it does allow you to gain relevant insights into medicine that could be useful to talk about in your personal statement. Also, would working in a charity shop count as work experience in a care/empathy related sector? I volunteered as a shop volunteer at my local St Luke's Hospice shop over the summer, but tbh I think I gained more retail work experience as I usually just helped organise clothes, hang up clothes, pricing etc.
U could talk about communication skills, working under pressure, team work and the ability to follow instructions. definitely put it in your personal statement!
Hi everyone, sorry for not posting for a while. I've been trying to catch up on transition work (due tomorrow) which I still haven't completed, so I think I'll have to take a small break from my gyg. I'll be back as soon as I'm on schedule (which I probably won't be for a while) so see you all then! Sorry about this again and good luck everyone with your academic journey!
Also, I forgot to mention, I've decided to also pick further maths as one of my subjects. Since I meet the GCSE requirement for further maths at my sixth form (thankfully), I decided to try it for a few weeks and see how it goes

Ayyyy another Bio Chem Maths FM combo! Just so you know - a lot of unis don't even consider FM as an a level for Medicine (only one of maths or fm). I didn't know this at the start of sixth form but I'm sticking out with it now haha as it's been too long
