[Official] Riots in streets across the UK, after 3 children die in Southport stabbing

https://www.bbc.com/news/live/cevwgqz0x41t

Can't get any worse than this.

A 17-year old (!!) has stabbed 11 people, mainly children, at a Taylor Swift themed event at a dance hall in Southport.

Utterly unfathomable.

Many are in a critical condition and will be scared for life, physically and mentally.

What the **** is going on in the UK ?!

"Originally from Cardiff". They'd rather pin this on the Welsh than say where he was really from.

I hate to tell you this, but this isn't a 'what's going on with the UK' deal. It's happened many times in the past for much the same stupid reasons. I was aware of two similar mass stabbing as a teen/90s, you just didn't have the internet to trawl through and replay the news.

RIP to the victims. A genuinely horrific event.

Isn't it far more frequent than it was?

Also, what cases are you refering to?

He was born in Cardiff and moved with his family to Southport, so yes, he's really from Wales.

To what are you referring when you ask if 'it' is far more frequent? Mass attacks on children in the UK? No, not since Dunblane. Mass stabbings generally? Again, no. Knife crime in general, yes, over the last 10 years.

But it is said that, before he was born, his family moved from Rwanda to Britain. Sometimes terror strewn Rwanda.

Yes, but what has been said, 'originally from Cardiff', is factually correct.

Britain has been 'terror strewn' too.

I think most people know from experience of the news that when 'lone wolves' in the UK tend to go on a mass spree of violence against people they don't know, they tend to disproportionately not be white.

The victims haven’t even been buried and you are already trying to attribute this to the perpetrator’s skin colour.

Thomas Hamilton? Michael Ryan? Derrick Bird? David Copeland?

Whilst you said 'lone wolf' most terrorist-related deaths in the UK are due to the conflict in Northern Ireland.

Sickening.

Those in the community actually affected by this tragedy have held a peaceful vigil, then these scumbags hijack the situation as an excuse to run riot.

I mentioned Northern Ireland earlier; never saw mobs, ahem, 'protesting' at Catholic churches when the IRA were active and indiscriminate on the mainland...

If you are born in Cardiff, then you are from Cardiff.
If you are from Cardiff and live in the UK, you are British.
Sorry to burst some people's hate bubble (although it's not even clear who people are trying to hate here, other than some notion of "foreign").

A quick look at historical violent crime stats shows it's no more prevalent than it was decades ago.
However, clickbait, agenda-driven misinformation on social media is waaay more common now than it used to be.

Looks like it involved the english defence league
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cv2gyv882nvo
and at the same time one of its fouders, tommy robinson, left england to avoid a court appearance on monday, despite a recent interview where he stressed how he was a patriot.

RIP to those involved in the original tragedy.

There doesn't appear to be any verified link between this and the EDL. Seems like an attempt to smear rightfully angry citizens as a mindless hate mob.

Could you explain why these citizens should be "rightfully angry" (your words) against the police force in Southport in connection with this event?

I too, like to help grieving communities by destroying their posessions and just generally burning **** up.

But then again I was once kicked in the head by a horse.
