What was the motive?

As yet unclear, news coverage has made a point about him having autism. Personally I feel that is smearing the many many people in the country with autism whose neighbours may now believe they're dangerous. Absolute poppy-****. He didn't go out and stab people because he's autistic. Anyway, rant over from me.

He's had his initial hearing, charges read out and plea will be given in October. I suspect we aren't going to hear anything further until the trial.

To be fair, if the murderes parents hadn't gone to Cardiff, he wouldn't have been born I'm the uk. Now you can't always blame the parents for the sins of their offspring (unless they are *****y parents) but immigration had a little to do with it.

So how do you view the home-grown murderers whose parents weren't immigrants? Damien Bendall killed as many children as have died at Southport.

1. When an attacker goes and stabs children, with no attempt to flee the scene (that we know of), do you really think he is considering the repercussions of his actions for him?
2. No the PREVENT programme; when you said earlier in the thread "There are steps that could and should have been taken.", I assume you meant the government programme that monitors people who are at risk of committing attacks like this one based on extreme ideologies. We don't know whether this young man was under the PREVENT programme or not, but that would be the only logical way I can think of that law enforcement could have stopped this event from taking place. If this young man was totally unknown to police, there is no feasible way I can think of for them to have prevented him attacking - you can't expect police officers to use crystal balls.

"there is no feasible way I can think of for them to have prevented him attacking"
We could have armed police in every school. Certainly seems to work in America.
Oh...

School wasn't in session, the building was open for a dance group.

I dont know if dead child count is the best way to look at it, 5 are still critical in hospital afaik so life changing injuries might be on the cards for some or all of them. The lucky ones have seen the brutal and bloody murder of their friends up close and obviously will have to process that for the rest of their lives.

So assuming neither attack was preventable, you rather both of them happen in the uk? I know we have our own issues in the uk but we don't need to expand them.

That's not my point; I'm stating that it's not just immigration that is a problem as we have home-grown murderers. Neither were there riots in Killamarsh over white male Damien Bendall killing his pregnant partner, her 2 children and daughter's friend.

It's almost as if there is some other issue at play here, other than just lives cut tragically short by senseless violence. 🤔
Criminals now trashing Sunderland.

The hard right have hijacked this tragedy not out of any genuine concern for the victims or their families but simply as an excuse to riot.

That doesn't answer my question.

Kinda like the way they hijacked the issue of trans women in sport - as if anyone really believed that people who have always ridiculed women's sport were suddenly genuinely concerned for the "integrity of women's sport".

Let's not start ourselves off on a tangent now, we're discussing here the Southport stabbing and its aftermath

Many will now look to Keir Starmer's law and order angle to see if the government delivers on their tough stance in dealing with these mobs.

The comment was relevant in context. I have no interest in going down that rabbit hole of diminishing returns.

"Many will now look to Keir Starmer's law and order angle to see if the government delivers on their tough stance in dealing with these mobs."
Indeed, we shall see. At least Labour doesn't rely on those mobs as part of their core support, so maybe a more robust approach?
However, day-to-day policing is not determined by the government, but by regional police forces and their command hierarchy.

He was born in Wales and had a Welsh accent. I ask the people still protesting, what is it that you want? Do you want all second generation immigrants to be removed from the UK?

So we should get rid of the former world record holder Colin Jackson, who has Jamaican parents and was also born in Wales?

And how about Emma Raducanu, who has Romanian and Chinese parents and wasn't even born in the UK?

Or should we keep her because her skin is white?

You forgot the key question.
Is them Muzlims?

Saw the best/worst post earlier on Facebook.
It said "NO MORE MOSQUES"
Above a picture of Brighton Pavilion!
It would be funny if it wasn't so dangerous.

As my mother in law taught colin, she would have a stern word with anyone who said anything bad about him, nevermind trying to deport him. And you really wouldnt want that, believe me.

His supporters actually make donations to him! Which he then claims he'd spent on alcohol and gambling and declared himself bankrupt when he had outstanding debts to people.
The hypocrisy of the far right is showing itself once again. Claiming to be the side of "law and order" while stoking the flames of conflict, trying to derail criminal investigations, rioting in the streets, looting shops and attacking the police.

Most of these people don't give a **** about law and order, they just want an excuse to have a punch up, steal things and get high off adrenaline. The rest are just morons.
