Worried about accommodation

I'm worried about finding the right accommodation. I won't be living in the university dorms as i deem them too expensive comparison to living in a single room in a house share.

My fundings without SFE (worried about if I'm getting the SFE money on time) isn't enough for me to rent out a double room, hence why I'm looking for a single room. I'm struggling to find a single room to rent out. Are there any groupchats or any websites to look for room to rent?

Any advice would appreciate it!
Hello,

Spare Room might be a helpful site to use. I hope that helps.

Checked those out, most of them ask for reference so since im moving into the uk from abroad idk what reference they'd need. Plus some of the prices I'm seeing are quite expensive especially for a single bedroom.

Hey,

Regarding references, they may be looking for a reference from your current employer or past (last 6 months) and they might want to see a student ID number if yu have that.

Hello,

Finding affordable accommodation can be challenging, but several strategies and resources can help you secure a single room in a house share.

1. Explore Accommodation Options: Consider using student accommodation platforms like Casita, which offers a variety of housing options, including budget-friendly single rooms. It provides flexible terms and support throughout the booking process, making it easier to find accommodation that fits your budget and needs.

2. Specific Options: Casita offers various options, such as The Lyra and Scape Wembley in London, which provide single rooms with shared amenities, offering a great balance between privacy and affordability.

3. Social Media and Group Chats: Join local student community groups related to your university or city on social media. These often have postings from students looking for roommates or offering rooms for rent. Connecting with other students in similar situations can lead to potential housing opportunities.

4. University Resources: Even if you’re not living in university dorms, your university’s accommodation office can be a valuable resource. They often have listings for off-campus housing or can connect you with other students looking for housemates.

Good luck with your search, and don’t hesitate to contact housing communities for support and advice!
