GCSE results day 2024

Hi I’m sorry this may sound like a rant but I am so scared for results day. Like so so scared. I forgot about it for the first month but now it’s all I think about. I got 7s 8s and 9s in my mocks but I swear I fumbled the actual exams up so bad. Everytime I have mentioned this I always get the “you will have done better than you think” etc but I know I defo haven’t.

English Lang was one of my guaranteed 9s, but I didn’t even get to answer Q2 on paper 2 or finish question 4 entirely. Geography was also a guaranteed 9 but I messed up paper 1 and now looking back I feel like I just waffled. English Lit I only wrote like 3 (but mainly 4) pages a question (my handwriting is normal size). And physics P1 had so many conversions I didn’t know.

I could rant about my other subjects but I think you get the idea. I know 6s and 7s are still amazing and I know exams will never go 100% perfectly for anyone, but after struggling sm through secondary I just really wanted one good outcome. It also doesn’t help that after every exam everyone always said how nice they were this year and now I’m scared about grade boundaries.

I would really like to know if anyone is having/ had a similar experience. Thanks.

i'm in the year above but i just want to say that don't stress about low grade boundaries just because people said the exams were good. like for english literature last year the exams were way easier than they've ever been, no matter what text people did everyone said they got an extremely good question and i did not see one person online (on tiktok) or in real life saying it was bad, and yet the grade boundaries were ridiculously low compared to usual. good luck for results day hope you get what you want !!

Just the fact that you are stressing over what you did wrong means that you put a tonne of work into the exams. I'm the same lol, last year I was expecting a 6 in Lit and 7 in Lang. In the end, both were 9s. But even if you don't get the max grade, judging from what you've said, you'll probably be in a great position come August 22nd. Now go enjoy the 4 weeks of freedom you have left!
