Hiya! I'm elareare, welcome to my fairly fab GYG!
I'm studying my a-levels from home with distance-learning courses, because I'm Irish and there's no sixth-form colleges here, sadly...
But I'm sure I can slay the day away and get my target grades!
This is what I'm studying:
•
AQA English Language, with Oxford Open Learning.
•
Edexcel Spanish, also with Oxford Open Learning.
•
OCR Classical Civilisation with Humanatees Tutoring.
•
I'm also sitting the TEG Irish exam to the B1 CEFR level.
I hope to study either Speech and Language Therapy or Global Languages.
My Target Grades are:
A*A*A*, and a pass in the TEG B1 exam. If I don't get 3A*s (possible), there is another course I'm interested in (which required a BBC).
About me:
I like painting, reading, watching tv and believe it or not, studying...

👉 so today i opened my english book and read the first lesson which was 'lexis and semantics'.
👉 i then made notes for the whole lesson, it took ages.
hopefully within the week i will complete lesson two AND my first tutor marked assignment!
i haven't started spanish yet (i need to email my tutor...) and i've done irish AAALL thru the summer. classics'll start in september (there's a live class for that one) but i might read ahead a bit, so i'm not overwhelmed when i'm doing all 4 topics, yk

Why hello dear reader 🥹... i woke up at 2pm cause im an actual failure (and cuz on sunday was travelling all night and slept monday 9am-6pm... it's at times like these i'm glad i'm homeschooled tbh....)
I started studying at 5pm. Considering i did like 3/4 hrs studying i have no idea why i'm finishing at half 1- i was on a call with my bestie for like 4 hrs but still... 😩
👉 for irish, i did about an hour's work. I did
→ chapter three of the Christian brothers book
→ Lesson 4 of Mícheál ó siadhail's book
→ some of the language gym book
👉 for spanish i did more than an hour's work. I lost track of it tho.
→ i did activity 1's questions 1 & 2, and made a vocab list
👉 for english i did an hour's work.
→ i typed out yesterday's lesson notes and put them on getrevising: here and here.
→ also did some seneca.
I'M SO TIRED 😫😫😫 i became so lazy over summer help anyway here's to getting in some classics too tomorrow? 🤞🤞🤞

👉 1 hr of spanish
→ 1 duo lesson
→ seneca
→ the book is so hard... help me fam...
👉 1 hr of english
→ did activity 1
→ covered 'aspect' and 'mood', made notes for that.
👉 40 minutes qur'anic studies
→ wrote out surah al-fatiha in arabic, romanisation and english translation (i am so, so slow at writing in qur'anic arabic. like... 40 minutes... for a short surah... anyway...)
ALSO HELP THE CHRISTIAN BROS IRISH BOOK IS SO OUTDATED THEY EVEN SPELL GAEILGE DIFFERENTLy like whatttt.... and they have diff words for boy and girl, tbh i'm half surprised they don't do dots over fem words instead of séimhiú-ing them 😭😔
yes anyway it's gone from 20 past to 25 past 12 i can SEE my sleep evaporate. i got up at 9 today, cuz there were builders in, but ended up falling asleep watching tv with my siblings anyway. so i dont think i ✨truly✨ got up at 9. anyway.. that's my day fam. didn't even leave the house. tomorrow i might go to a palestinian protest i think there's one on. we'll see... 👀

i took a break yesterday. i went out to town with my little siblings. (i'm broke now thanks to them... 😑)
i think saturdays should be my break days from studying from now on 💪

oh guys... i'm an idiot... yesterday night i did my henna, just a simple practice design on my hand... i went to sleep and the design is on my right jawline/cheek, it musn't have dried properly before i went to sleep... i'm thanking God for concealer rn 
also i saw twister in the cinema with my fam this evening, it was pretty slay!
anyway after applying a lotta concealer this morning (afternoon let's not lie) i did...

anw, I wanted to know how's Spanish in a levels, and is it a good idea to take it up or not. I'm confused between Italian and Spanish so idk.
also by your posts I think ya know Arabic. how did you learn it, bcz I wanna too so I can understand the quran

so far spanish in a-levels so far requires a lot of random vocab (and confidence) and they literally spoon-feed you the most basic grammar concepts (like adjectives...), or at least with my course they do.
italian is such a cool language, i love it sm. which language do you know more (and are more confident) of? (because i went with spanish over latin simply because i find it easier.)
i do recommend it as an a-level, if you enjoy languages
i don't know arabic 😭 i learned to read it when i was younger, and i'm very slowly teaching myself. the way i'm learning to understand the qur'an is write the arabic then the english translation (sentence-by-sentence)

then i went to town to the library. i have a LOT of books!!! yayyyy, tomorrow imma try starting studying at maybe 11 or smth early so i can finish early and then spend the evening reading... blissful, no?

yesterday was saturday (my break day) which was utterly fab, i read 'to gaze upon wicked gods', which was amazing. i also started 'soulmates and other ways to die'. i was reading until 2am 🤭. i also made chocolate chip cookies 🍪
and today i vibed a bit, read a bit, chatted with my friend... and obviously studied because i must...
today i did:

→ notes on ody, characterisation, cyclops, phaecians, characters.
