Cambridge PGCE - do I stand a chance or am I dreaming?

I totally disagree with this, been teaching overseas 14 years and no one cares where you got a pgce from. Note you won't graduate from Cambridge with a PGCE, you just have a dinner and they give you a cert. You will hardly be at uni anyway.

You need to pick a uni near wheryou want to work as best way to get a job is on placement. Cambridge is expensive as well to live in.
They want to move back overseas and work there. Cambridge is equidistant to most other U.K. unis when you're looking at commuting distance from Thailand so I'm not sure this advice is massively applicable.

I don’t have any plans to work in the UK at all. My local uni is University of Kent / Christ Church, just feel like Cambridge might sound slightly better compared to these… what countries have you been teaching if you don’t mind me asking?
