Taking animals to uni

I'm currently building a terrarium and think of putting some maintenance insects (specifically isopods) in there so it doesn't mold and stuff but I just want to ask around if anyone knows if these would be allowed in uni before I get them as no one would be able to look after them for me if not, does anyone have any advice or know about this first hand
Definitely not in university halls/university accommodation. Most landlords have no pets rules, if its in a sealed container like your describing you I think you’ll find some private landlords who are willing to allow this but you’ll have to ask them individually. I suspect the bigger commercial letters are not likely to be flexible, small landlords who own a handful of houses tend to be easier to negotiate these things.
University accommodation, including private student halls, generally only permit guide dogs for visually impaired students.

Generally private landlords are pet averse, you would need to check on an individual basis.

Most accomodations do not allow pets, and you may struggle to find rental houses once you move out of university-owned accomodation in your second-year. Also consider what will happen to them if you want to go back home at Christmas or during the summer, as it may be difficult to find anyone on campus able to care for them, or to transport the terrarium back home if you are using public transport.

Hi 👋,

I think that it would be best to check with your accommodation provider as to whether they will specifically allow you to do this, as the rules really do vary from provider to provider.

I hope this helps,
