LNAT

Hello,

I am going to start Y12 next year, hoping to studying Law in the future. I know that various universities require LNAT scores, but I don't know how I should study, as well as how much I should be studying for it, e.g. 60-90 minutes per week (I really don't know)? For me, I think I'll start preparing now, at least getting a general idea of what it actually is.

Can anyone share any advice, as well as providing study resources, please? If so, this is greatly appreciated.

Hi, as someone who's just finished year 12 and going into yr13 and doing the LNAT soon, you do not need to worry about doing LNAT studying at all until at least march if not later in year 12. If you do want to do a practice test to see what it's like then the LNAT website has 2, but i certainly wouldn't suggest buying any resources until later on. If you are absolutely certain you want to start earlier, many people, including myself, recommend Arbitio. It's questions are actually harder than the LNAT to help you prepare better. You can use the code 10NABAA if you'd like a discount asw
One thing I was advised by former students and admissions officers is that there IS such a thing as too much practice. You don't want to burn yourself out ahead of the exam and I'd say doing about 4 months of motivated and effective revision is better than low effort revision over a year

I would not worry about the LNAT now, as you won't be sitting it until next year. I prepared for sitting the LNAT in the summer between year 12 and 13 by doing the official practice tests and the simulation (found here: https://lnat.ac.uk/how-to-prepare/practice-test/), before sitting the test in September. I did not pay for any resources (they're simply not necessary!) and still scored comfortably above the average in the year I sat it. There are plenty of free resources online if you need additional help or want extra practice.

Ah, ok. Thank you!

This is just out of general curiosity, how long were your study sessions?

When doing the past papers it was just how long it took me to do them to the time limit (95 minutes or less), and then I would also practice doing the essay questions to the time limit (40 minutes).
