I'm going into my second year of college studying health and social care and I've been researching more into what I actually want to do when I finish. I have my heart set on doing social work, but as a part of being a social worker you have to complete an occupational health check which I'm on the fence about.
Physically I should have no issues but from about 15-17 years old I had a lot of mental health issues, and I have had trips to A&E, GPs and had a mental health assessment as a result. I'm 18, turning 19 this year, so it was a decent amount of time ago, but I also still do access counselling on and off through college/a local charity since I was discharged under CAMHS at 17. Even though I've had that counselling since then I haven't had any severe mental health issues, it's more of a coping thing and being able to talk to someone so I don't get back to that point but is all of this likely to affect me passing an occupational health check and going into social work like I want?
