PRO/CON of open university? And the psychology course?

I was thinking about my A-level grades in a few weeks and I’m terrified. I want to get into KCL but I don’t want the course I applied for and I feel like doing something “practical” like psychology but it’s competitive at KCL and I doubt I’ll get in if I transfer so I thought I’d join open university and do psychology.

But I have a lot of doubts. CONS: I won’t be able to make friends? I’ll miss out in open university. PRO: I will be paying less than everyone else and actually be able to save a lot of my money this way. PRO: psychology is provided by the BPS accredited

Would I be able to apply on August 15th and start open uni this academic year? Is it respected as much as brick unis? And what do you think about this whole situation?
