Questions on competitions/Olympiads for biochem degree

Im planning to apply biochem for undergraduate course and would like to apply to 3 of the G5s
I was just wondering if SMC/BMO are that important for the biochem application? Or are BBO(bio) or chem Olympiad more important for that? (Since I'm not that good in maths and don't know which one should i distribute more time on
Thanks!

Unis are not that bothered about Olympiads etc - everyone does them and so they they don't say anything special about you. There is no harm in doing this sort of competition stuff but don't expect it to make any difference to your chances of an offer.

What Unis do look for is evidence that you have started to move beyond just the A level syllabus and are starting to read/study at a higher level, and for any STEM subjects that you have started to make connections between the individual sciences.

Here is some suggested reading from Oxford for Biochem - good for all Unis - Recommended Reading List | Biochemistry (ox.ac.uk)
