The Student Room Group

my country has no work exp!!!!!!

Hi guys!
I need help. Basically my parents have decided to relocate to the middle east as I’m entering y12. I will be doing iALs in a british school (maths, fm, phy, art). My one problem is that in this country, there is NO work experience. like it’s literally illegal to work before 18. I want to apply for architecture in a Russell group at least, but i feel like there’s so little for me to possibly do outside my portfolio and grades, so i don’t know how ill get in. Does anyone know how to find any online work experience, scholarship prizes etc. I looked online but nothing seems to be aimed at architecture. should i do subject-specific work instead? like maths/physics stuff? i mean my friend told me in architecture they don’t care abt that so im torn!!!!!!

For online work experience I'd suggest Springpod. They have virtual work experience and subject spotlights (where you can try out a subject before committing to studying it at university) in many different subjects.
Some of their architecture-focused ones:

Work experience isn't necessarily work, employment or paid. Are you not even allowed to spend a week sitting beside an architect? That's all work experience really needs to be.
