Postgraduate Student Finance

Hi,

I’m due to start a distance learning Masters in October at the University of Leicester. The course is 27 months which student finance class as a 3 year course. It is a part time course as there is no option for a full time course.

Student finance have granted me a loan and are paying it three times per academic year over 3 years. The problem is that once my course finishes in December 2027 Leicester won’t be able to confirm my attendance and I won’t receive the two remaining payments in January and April 2027. Without the two remaining payments the loan will not cover the cost of the course in full.

Has anybody else had this issue with a course that is not the exact length of an academic year/years and managed to sort getting full funding? I have spoken to the University and SFE and both are unable to do anything.

Thank you in advance! 😊

This is due to the term dates Leicester have submitted to SFE. They could adjust the term dates if they wanted to.
