Unable to make conversation

Hi,

I’ve known for a while that I struggle with making conversations. All I can manage is really small talk, and I want to be able to build memorable and genuine connections, both at work (in a client-based environment) and in real life. In interviews, I have difficulty expressing my thoughts and explaining things clearly. This happens even in situations like going to the GP for my health; it's hard for me to get my words out and speak fluently.

The worst part is, I do have confidence. I know I can do it—I'm not shy. I'm more of an introverted extrovert. It's just really hard to keep a conversation going.

I just need some guidance.

Thanks~

I have not been dissimilar for many years and understand. I wish I had done what I am going to suggest, which is why I am suggesting, nay urging you, you do do it. Look up "Hypnotherapy Directory" on Google. They do all types of Therapy, from Hypnosis to EMDR (rapid eye movement) and they see so many people they get an idea of how they
can help. Many of them will give you a 1/2 hr Free Consultation. Find a few you like in your area, book a Free Consultation and see how they can help. They can likely help you with confidence etc etc. It MAY be you have some kind of "neurodivergence" which is commons now, even Elon Musk has.

As I say, I do understand and am similar in that I too am not "shy" per se as in most circumstances I can speak to anyone, but that has got better as I have got older, which is why I am urging you to seek out the Therapy so you do not do what I did, which is work around "it" and F up my life basically.
