Personal statement for Accounting and Finance

Hii, I'm currently in Year 12 and I want to apply to A&F at the following universities: LSE, KCL, QMUL, City University and Surrey University. Please could you recommend some books that are either to do with accounting or finance that I could read in order to mention in my personal statement as well as expand my knowledge on these topics. Any other advice to do with this would also be really appreciated thank youu!

Good to hear you're keen.

My recommendation would be to look into materials used for AAT Level 2, and work your way up if you like. These will get you familiar with bookkeeping, costing principles, and business in general.

You can write as wide as possible. It's the advice I give.

I would also recommend MOOC's by the website future learn as another super curricular activity alongside reading, as you can select a topic your the most interested in and learn about it in greater detail. Also online webinars and online lectures can be a great way to expand your knowledge, not only on the topic but you also get to experience what university style learning is like at the same time. There are lots of online lectures on Youtube or on the individual universities website.

Corporate Finance by Watson & Head would be a good introduction to the finance side of things
