German IRP Topic

For A-Level German, I need to do a research project about something to do with Germany or a German speaking country, however I also wanted to link it to engineering so I can put it on my personal statement for a mechanical engineering degree. I know that automotive engineering is a clear direction to go into, however I was wondering if anyone else had any other ideas that may be better, as I’m very indecisive.

You could also look at aviation/space engineering, or even biological engineering. These are all pretty big topics though, to narrow it down, it would probably be better to focus on a person in the field like Diesel or Zeppelin, or a specific time period of automotive engineering etc.

I’m doing Chinese A level, so I assume the requirements are similar for our IRPs here. If you can narrow down your topic early, it’s much easier to make a concise title or question.

Germany has a long tradition of having a strong engineering economy. You could do something about that, either its history or modern innovation?
