Merging Finance and Econ into one personal statement + a question about activities

Hey, so I plan on applying to finance at one uni and economics at another... Would it be easy to merge these two into one personal statement? Or would I be better off only applying to finance or only to economics? Additionally, most (if not all) of my activities are related to economics, so I'm not sure if that will be okay for my personal statement either.
