The Student Room Group

starting sixth form in sept.

What do I need to bring in my bag? I mean I know the obvious stuff but I don't want to end up buying things like folders that I won't end up using. Studying bio, geo and Spanish btw
I feel like YouTube videos and the rest of social media do a pretty good job telling you what you need.

1.

Get Folders if you know you'll get a lot of paper from teachers
You can get three of those big binder that everyone mention or go with slightly smaller ones (or buy dividers for the big ones) to separate modules. Please, consider getting a small folder for the week. It keeps everything more organised especially if you work with a lot of loose paper.

I ended up needing two more binders in my second year but I used plastic pockets to separate things I considered the most useful to me during exams.

1.

Textbooks
This only only depends on whether or not your SF provides them or whether your prefer a certain type of paper. I did essay subjects but I preferred square paper and detachable pages. It just makes it easier to learn and organise.

2.

Pens
Pens. Pens of different colours for editing and differentiating work. Highlighters. If you draw diagrams in any lesson get pencils and a ruler, obviously.

3.

The previous points might not be relevant if your able to just use a laptop or tablet. I still recommend getting a couple of folders just in case a teacher give you a paper version of something. You can always scan it back in.

I'm sure there are other things but I feel like you can get away with these things until you figure out what ways of learning works for you.
