Maintenance Loan hasn't been updated after partner submitted income information

I'm a mature student entering the second year of my degree in September. I applied for Student Finance back in April, with my partner submitting their tax return information in the first week of May. I had a letter in June saying I'd been given the minimum Maintenance Loan, but based on our household income (less than £30k) I should be eligible for significantly more than that. (I received the maximum amount last year.) Neither I nor my partner have had any communication saying there's a problem with the information submitted. Are SFE just being really, really slow confirming the information?

Have you provided any required evidence that you are an independent student (or are you over 25?)

Yes. I'm 40 years old, and I have provided that information, along with the documentation to prove my partner and I are married. On the Student Finance website, everything in the "Your Actions To Complete" section are marked as complete. And my partner has logged into their account, and there's no request for additional information in there either.

Hi there,

Can you please ask your partner to login to their own account, does it show that they're linked to your 24/25 application there?

Or, does it only show 23/24?

Thanks, Graeme

Hi Graeme,

They have logged into their account, and it does show that they're linked to my 24/25 application. There's also a confirmation that the relevant evidence was received on 7th May 2024.

Thanks for confirming.

Did your partner complete the PFF2 form? How was it they supported your application?

Thanks,
Ross

Hi Ross,

They filled in the online form on the website. They had a look through their account yesterday, and can confirm that there is a record of the information being received by yourselves on 7th May.

Thanks for confirming.

I'd advise for either of you to contact us directly to make sure the income did 100% pull through.

You can either, access the live chat function on the online account, or call 0300 100 0607.

Thanks,
Ross

Hi Ross,

Thank you. I've just called, and it's been confirmed that all the evidence has been received by SFE. They agree that something has gone a little wrong during the process, so they have done a referral for the Maintenance Loan to be reassessed.

Thanks for letting us know.

The referrals are 5 working days for reassessment so this should be updated for you by next week.

If you have any further queries please let us know.

Thanks,
Ross
